Skin Cancer is a self-directed interactive program heavily focused on the clinical recognition and management of skin cancers and benign skin lesions that are commonly confused with cancers.
The program particularly aims to enhance the ability to correctly identify benign and malignant skin lesions by their clinical features and to encourage a logical and methodical approach to diagnosis in more difficult cases.
The program consists of seven modules that can be worked through in any order and that aim to:
- increase awareness and understanding of the risk factors for skin cancer
- explore the biological activity, clinical implications, treatment and prognosis of the various types of skin cancer
- enhance the clinical skills of students to confidently diagnose skin lesions
- increase understanding of the role of histology and dermoscopy in diagnosis
- enhance the ability of clinicians to confidently and appropriately manage skin cancer
