Cases,
Remediation, and Evaluation Challenger High
Risk Medicine, a state-of-the-art antidote to misdiagnosis
and litigation risk, is a series of courses designed to
address each aspect of high risk care, management, and
risk prevention. Employing our proven programmed learning
methodology and the expert advice of our prestigious
Physician Advisory Board, Challenger High Risk Medicine
will increase your confidence, challenge your cognitive
knowledge of difficult cases, and assign a "Risk Rating"
against the standard of care.
Challenger High Risk Medicine presents unique
case-study-oriented presentations on high risk care.
In-depth "key point" articles focus on the most
treacherous diagnostic situations in acute and primary
care, so as to help practicing physicians strengthen their
knowledge base, sharpen diagnostic skills, recognize and
head-off potentially life-threatening conditions, and
better avoid costly and time-consuming litigation. And the
series does so at a cost of less than $20 per credit hour!
Each case contains high-resolution imagery, didactic
content, and associated questions and answers, and all the
content is peer-reviewed by prominent experts from
Vanderbilt University School of Medicine. Each case
features an up-to-date clinical overview of a high-risk
topic, including presentations, differentials, and
treatments. This overview is followed by a comprehensive
investigation of the most common diagnostic pitfalls
related to care.
Full-color, high-resolution imagery has always been one of
the hallmarks of Challenger programs.
Every image is assigned to the appropriate
standard-of-care topic, and most can be enlarged for
detailed examination and observation. Labels on imagery,
diagrams, and ultrasound videos can be switched on and off
for quick reference and self-testing.

Health professionals need the skills to provide high
quality care to people with developmental disabilities.
Cognitive, physical, communication and social impairments
can create particular challenges for patients, their
families and carers, and the health professionals working
with them.
Healthcare Scenarios in Developmental Disability has been
designed to support the development of positive attitudes
towards people with disabilities, and to provide important
information in skill and knowledge domains.
This resource has two major sections: The Video Scenarios
and the Knowledge Base.
The Video Scenarios comprise videotaped ‘medical
consultations’ between medical practitioners and four
people with disabilities. These four scenarios introduce
students to the issues faced by people living with
intellectual disability, cerebral palsy, Down syndrome and
dual disability and allow students to observe how
challenges are handled in real interactions. Each video
consultation is embedded in a learning pathway that
includes learning objectives, a reflective exercise and a
self assessment quiz.
Underpinning the four video scenarios are five extensive
Knowledge Bases: Overview of Developmental Disability;
General Issues in Healthcare; Communication; Mental Health
and Illness; and Issues for Families and Carers.

Understanding
the biomedical principles and the
structure and function of muscle
Kinemyo aims to provide year 1 Physiotherapy students
with an understanding of mechanical principles (module
1) and the structure and function of skeletal muscle
(modules 2 and 3) as a basis for developing skills in
analysis of human movement.
Use of everyday examples facilitates understanding of
important concepts that are then applied to examples
relevant to physiotherapy theory and practice.
Each concept is accompanied by questions and feedback.

Primary Care Dermatology Series - Dermatology Basics with Case Studies
Derm-Challenger identifies and describes the physiologic functions of the
skin, the basic anatomy of the skin and its accessory structures, and the most
important cell types of the skin and their functions. This knowledge provides
the foundation for understanding anatomic and physiologic alterations that occur
in skin diseases and enables the physician assistant to identify and diagnose
over 80 common and not-so-common dermatological problems.
Derm-Challenger gives you immediate access to a
large image library for use in differential
diagnosis. In addition, there are 100 actual patient cases
and 82 synopses of common dermatological conditions to stimulate your learning.
An easy-to-use interface is combined with immediate feedback and scoring to
maximise your retention of the material and reinforce the vital knowledge you
need to give the best possible care. Regular use of Derm-Challenger will increase your clinical confidence and
hone your ability to accurately interpret dermatologic disorders.

This set of four CD-ROM
constitutes a comprehensive guide to medical communication skills, with over forty
filmed scenarios demonstrating practical ways in which communication techniques
can improve patient health care and support. These programs set out the basic
principles of good skills in communication, and then go on to illustrate more advanced
techniques involved in dealing with patients’ emotions (including anger,
despair, denial and depression) and in unearthing hidden agenda or worries that
the patient may have (such as anorexia or physical abuse by the spouse). Further
sections deal with the techniques of breaking bad news, and special situations
such as the diagnosis of Alzheimer’s or AIDS and cultural and ethnic
difficulties. Other sections deal with paediatric issues, palliative care and
end-of-life decisions, and the new area of genetic counselling, when blood tests
for genetic predisposition to certain cancers are being considered or have been
done.
