TOPIC 1: Fever and Rash: A Common Sense Approach - Upon completion of this session, the participant should be able to: 1.  Identify life-threatening skin conditions present with a fever.  2.  Generate a differential diagnosis for a fever and rash.  3.  Identify a classification scheme for skin diseases associated with fever.

2. List which imaging studies are most effective in diagnosing injury.
3. Demonstrate how the clinician should approach image interpretation.

1.  Develop a systematic approach to looking at a chest radiograph. 
2.  Recognize how radiographic technique may simulate or hide abnormalities on a chest radiograph. 
3.  Identify air space diseases such as pneumonia and atelectasis on a chest radiograph.

TOPIC 5: Office Orthopedics in the Elderly Patient - Upon completion of this session, the participant should be able to:

1.  List the common causes of acute low back pain in the elderly. 
2.  Describe the symptoms and treatment of spinal stenosis. 
3.  List the common causes of neck pain in the elderly.

TOPIC 4: Soft Tissue and Bone Infections - Upon completion of this session, the participant should be able to:

1.  Identify an approach to making the diagnosis of common skin and soft tissue infections. 
2.  Recognize common infections to include streptococcal and staphylococcal infections and necrotizing fasciitis, diabetic foot infections, bite wound infections and bone and joint infections. 
3.  Apply appropriate treatment and management of these commonly seen infections and decide when specialist referral is indicated.
