Challenger Integrative Health Care is intended for all physicians, both primary care providers and specialists, who require information on alternative health care practices in use by the general population.
Educational Objectives:
The educational objectives of the Challenger Integrative Health Care training program are as follows. On completing the program, the medical practitioner will be able to:
- Define the terms used in integrative health care.
- Describe the key elements of discussing integrative health care with your patients.
- List alternative systems of care in use in the United States.
- Describe the major herbals used in integrative health care by detailing common usage, activity, adverse effects and contraindications, dosages, and drug interactions.
- Describe the nutriceuticals used in integrative health care by detailing benefits and therapeutic uses, therapeutic dose range, risks, natural sources, and RDA.
- Describe possible integrative health care techniques/treatments for the following disorders:
- Anxiety and depression
- Arthritis
- Asthma
- Cancer
- Coronary artery disease and congestive heart failure
- Diabetes
- Gastrointestinal problems

- Hypercholesterolemia

- Demonstrate mastery of the knowledge and cognitive skills required to achieve objectives 1-6 by scoring at least 80% on all topics studied for CME credit.
