Aortic Arch (Aortogram) - An aortogram is obtained by injection of contrast medium via an arterial catheter passed upwards from the femoral artery. The aortic arch and its major branches are demonstrated. Anatomical variations of these arteries are common (in this case the left vertebral artery is seen in the thorax, arising from the origin of the left subclavian artery).
