Paired Pelvic Viscera Excised - The paired viscera in the pelvic cavity (ureter, ovary and uterine tube) are excised. The ureter is cut as it crosses the origin of the external iliac artery, on the pelvic brim. The round ligament of the uterus is cut just prior to exiting from the abdominal cavity through the deep inguinal ring (at the lower part of the anterior abdominal wall) and the ovarian vessels are cut just after they cross the ureter on psoas major (a muscle of the posterior abdominal wall).
