The ACLS Protocols module of Code Team! presents clinical scenarios. You must follow the appropriate arrhythmia treatment protocol as you work through the scenario. On-screen, there are protocol charts, a medical textbook, drug listings, and many more helpful functions.

ACLS Protocols

ACLS Protocols offers many learning options. You can pop up a treatment protocol or a list of drugs at a mouseclick. There's even an on-screen textbook.

Drug Information Listing

Amiodarone: Actions: Amiodarone reduces the likelihood of V-fib and V-tach. Indications: Amiodarone is a first-line drug in treatment of V-f due to myocardial infarction. It has replaced lidocaine as the drug of choice for resistant or recurring V-fib. Amiodarone can be useful for other arrhythmias such as A-fib, WPW with PSVT or flutter, a V-tach, including polymorphic V-tach. Cautions: May worsen cardiogenic shock, severe bradycardia, or heart block. Tends to reduce blood pressure. Rapid administration drops blood pressure more severely. Supplied: Ampule = 3ml = 150mg. Dose: Vifib, 300 mg bolus, In arrhythmias with a pulse, give 150 mg Amiodarone slowly - over 10 minutes. Supplemental boluses for recurrent arrhythmia 150 mg, can be followed by drip. Pediatric dose 5mg/kg.

Everywhere, there's useful information in ACLS Protocols. ACLS Protocols is not a "choose A,B,C" type of program. You type your orders in plain English. You need to know the drug's dose, based on the patient's weight.
