After the opening scenario video, the patient is yours to save, or kill. Give a treatment order. Just like you'd say it in an actual "code." You can type the order in the box, or click on a treatment shortcut button. Cardiac Arrest! lets you use almost a hundred different drugs or interventions! |

(Note: for the web site, the true colour of the Cardiac
Arrest! display has been converted to 256-color.
The appearance on your sVGA system will be significantly better than what you
see here!)

As you give your treatment order, a member of your treatment team will acknowledge the order, and you'll see it carried out. Orders can include drugs, interventions like hyperventilation or an intraosseous line, or tests such as lab or x-ray. But it's not always the same: one time, the pacemaker rapidly saves the patient; but repeat the case again, and the pacemaker may not be available for several minutes, forcing you to use endotracheal drugs to speed the rhythm. Orders can be typed through the keyboard, using regular English (just as if you would say it during a resuscitation). Things you'd probably do on every patient (such as intubation) are available as quick-access buttons. And if you really hate typing, you can click on the listing of drugs or procedures and pick one from the list. (The nurse will ask you for the dose when you order a drug this way - you can select the dose in the dialog box.) |

As you resuscitate the patient, you're expected to obtain (and interpret) the chest x-ray...

And the 12-lead ECG!
