An interactive,
problem based educational program
This program was developed to facilitate the teaching
and learning of normal child growth and development. It
allows students to observe the progressive growth and
development of the same child over time, via the use of
digitalised video clips of the child performing
age-related tasks and behaviours. The program is
structured around visits to the family home when the
child is 2 weeks, 6 weeks, 3 months, 6 months, 9 months
and 12 months old. During these visits the parents raise
concerns about their child’s growth or development that
students work through, before outlining the most
appropriate advice. Child health and family issues such
as feeding, crying, immunisation, Sudden Infant Death
Syndrome (SIDS), stranger anxiety and postnatal
depression are introduced to students during relevant
visits.

Clinical
Procedures and Techniques: Video,
Monograph and Interactive CME Challenger Caesarean Delivery
is a multimedia educational resource
that teaches the principles and
techniques of performing and assisting
at caesarean delivery and tubal
ligation. Although the procedure must
ultimately be taught in the operating
room, viewing high-quality video of
the standard technique and its
variations is helpful to both new
learners and more experienced
physicians interested in improving
their skills.
Challenger Caesarean Delivery
includes a 58-minute VHS video,
narrated by Mark Deutchman, MD,
covering the steps of caesarean
delivery, major technique variations,
tubal ligation, and instruments. A
printed monograph and interactive
CD-ROM accompany the video.
Challenger Cesarean Delivery consists of
state-of-the-art clinical information in both the video
presentation and the monograph; its 7 chapters cover 33
essential topics in cesarean delivery. Every physician
practicing in a primary or acute care setting is an
odds-on favorite to encounter complicated, if not
life-threatening, obstetrical problems, some of which
require surgical delivery. Physicians practicing in rural
or underserved medical areas where they, for all practical
purposes, serve as the local providers of women's health
care, will find the program of unparalleled value. The 50
Questions and Answers included on the CD-ROM will also
help in enhancing your mastery of the subject.
